Boiler Upgrade Scheme: the £7,500 heat pump grant
In England and Wales, eligible property owners can receive £7,500 towards an air-to-water or ground source heat pump through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
Who applies?
Your participating installer applies on your behalf. Confirm the property and replacement heating system are eligible before relying on a grant in your budget. The scheme is not the Scottish funding scheme.
Check the current grant
GOV.UK also lists other technology awards and an additional £1,500 for qualifying oil- or LPG-heated properties without mains gas until March 2027. This extra amount is not available to every household.
Keep the quote clear
The written proposal should show the installed total, the grant amount, the balance you pay, and the steps and dates needed to secure the funding.
